Underwear & other interesting things

In case you ever wondered - The first pair of underwear appeared in Exodus 28:42.

On a more serious note - Ex 28:15 (NLT) says "make a chestpiece to be worn for seeking a decision from God. Ex: 28:30 "Aaron will always carry over his heart the objects used to determine the Lord's will for his people whenever he goes in before the Lord.

Isn't it interesting that Aaron was to "keep close to his heart the piece that is used to seek God's will". He didn't keep it in the back pocket of his tunic or attached to the blue cord on his turban. He keep it near his heart. So when seeking the will of God maybe I should examine my heart first.

The Gift of the Sabbath

I'm reading through the bible, chronologically. Today's reading in the NLT said - They must realize that the Sabbath is the Lord's GIFT to you. EX 16:29.

God has given me a gift..............

Do I treat it as a precious gift or do I abuse it, mistreat it, take advantage of it? I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

God Speaks

Do you think that God speaks to us? I know He does. There has been too many times when I've heard him. And He said exactly what I needed to hear. Not always in an audible voice. Although I've heard that. Sometimes it is through a paragraph of a book. Sometimes it is through a song or a sermon. Most often it is through His Word.

Sometimes I hear God speak often. Times when He makes it very clear, over and over, that there is something He & I need to work on. But there are other times when I go days or months and I don't notice his voice. I have to believe there is only one reason for not hearing God's voice. I'm NOT listening.

So I've decided that I will make a point of listening. I want to hear what he has to say. And then I may (or may not) record it here. So that I can see if there is a pattern, to see if my theory is correct. That He really does speak if we listen.
